PLEASE ACCEPT OUR WARMEST WISHES TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FOR A HAPPY AND JOYOUS          Holiday Season!!  Your continued support and referrals of new clients helped us continue to grow this year.  We constantly seek ways to improve and enhance what we can do for those we serve, and there are several items we want you to know about as the year draws to a close:

This year we made a significant investment in new computer technology that gives us more technical capability plus greater efficiency and reliability while improving our clients' data security.  Unlike more and more firms, we will never outsource your critical tax and accounting work to any overseas company.  Your work is always done here by principals of our company or those whom we supervise face to face.

Our website is continuously updated to be useful to you throughout the year.  We added numerous timely articles and tools you can use regardless of your financial or tax situation.  If you are new to Acumen, make sure you read The Acumen Accounting Story under the "Our Business" tab.  There you will see why we are so committed to doing great accounting and tax.  Keep checking the website.  Soon we will have a section dedicated to 2010 Income Tax Returns.  There are several good articles and newsletters on the site now that deal with tax planning for this year.  You can also learn the latest accounting and tax news by following us on Twitter at acumenacctg.  And we are always available to meet with you to discuss your needs and planning matters as well.

In November, we received a major honor when internationally known financial counselor, advisor, and author Dave Ramsey named Tom the Endorsed Local Provider ("ELP") in Tax and Accounting for Loudoun and western Fairfax Counties.  ELPs must prove to be above the crowd in honesty, integrity, trust, and knowledge and are constantly reviewed to make sure they maintain the highest standards of practice.  Check out Dave's website at www.daveramsey.com for additional information on the ELP program as well as hundreds of useful articles and available books and publications on personal finance, debt, and a host of other life issues.

Because our business is built on referrals, there is no better satisfaction to us than receiving a written testimonial from our clients or than hearing from new clients that they were referred to us by someone else.  Please do us a favor and let us know when we do a great job for you, and thank you in advance for your referrals.  Great clients for us include small businesses that need accounting and tax help throughout the year and individuals who either pay taxes or are feeling guilty that they haven't.

Finally, please let us know as soon as possible if you need a Tax Organizer for this tax season. We will make sure you receive one via e-mail.  To save trees, we will only mail organizers to those who request them.  They will all be available by the end of December.  Like every year, we will need your tax data by March 4, 2011 to guarantee completion of your returns by April 15.  We can file Extensions for you for a $30 fee.  More info will be on our web-site as the season progresses.
